Terms of Service

1. Who We Are

WalkWars ("the App") is developed and operated by Vishu Kartik Shukla ("we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the App. Questions? Contact us at thewalkwars@gmail.com.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use WalkWars (16 in the European Economic Area). By using the App, you confirm you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate information when registering.
• Keep your password secure and not share it with others.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Use only one account per person.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or attempt to manipulate game data.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Cheat, use bots, scripts, or any automated means to manipulate step counts, XP, or battle outcomes.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or tamper with the App or its backend.
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data.

5. Step and Health Data

Step data is sourced from Apple Health or Google Health Connect on your device. We make no guarantee that step counts recorded in the App are accurate, complete, or consistent with readings from other platforms or devices.

The creature "health" mechanic is a game element only. A "critical health" state in the App does not reflect your actual physical health in any way.

6. No Warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be available at all times or free from errors or interruptions.
• Step counts or game data will be accurate, complete, or preserved indefinitely.
• Defects will be corrected.
• The App is free of viruses or other harmful components.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vishu Kartik Shukla and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of game data, XP, progress, or account access.
• Inaccurate step counts or health readings.
• Service interruptions or downtime.
• Any harm arising from reliance on App content for health or fitness decisions.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, as the App is free, is zero).

8. Data and Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the App, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including the game name, creature designs, artwork, copy, and code — is owned by or licensed to Vishu Kartik Shukla and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

10. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services including Supabase (database), Apple Health, and Google Health Connect. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.

11. Service Changes and Termination

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

You may stop using the App at any time. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Delete Account in the App.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
