Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

WalkWars is a mobile game developed by Vishu Kartik Shukla ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the WalkWars app ("the App"), why we collect it, and your rights over it.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

• Email address — used to create and authenticate your account.
• Username — a display name you choose, visible to friends in the leaderboard.
• Encrypted password — stored securely via Supabase; we never see it in plain text.

Game data

• Creature name, element, level, XP, and health — your in-game progress.
• Daily step counts — used to calculate XP and creature health over time.
• Battle history — records of challenges sent, received, and results.
• Friend relationships — who you've added as a friend within the game.

Step and health data (iOS / Android)

When step sync is enabled, the App reads your daily step count from Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android). We read steps only — we do not read any other health metrics (heart rate, weight, sleep, etc.). Step data is stored on our servers solely to calculate your creature's XP and health.

Technical data we do NOT collect

• We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or IP addresses for tracking.
• We do not use analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services, or third-party ad networks.
• We do not track your location.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To run the core game: calculate XP, update creature health, process battles, and show the leaderboard.
• To let you find and add friends by username.
• To send push notifications about battle challenges and results (only if you grant permission).
• To respond to support requests you send us.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the App.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Data

All data is stored on Supabase (supabase.com), a managed cloud database platform with encryption at rest and in transit. Access is protected by row-level security policies — you can only read or modify your own data, and friends can only see the information you'd expect them to see in the leaderboard (username, level, health state).

No payment information is ever collected or stored by us.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with:

• Supabase — our backend and database provider. Data is processed on their infrastructure under their privacy policy.
• Apple / Google — step data is read from their health platforms on your device and sent to us. It is not shared back with them.
• Legal requirements — if required by law or valid legal process, we may disclose information to authorities.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (via Settings → Delete Account in the App), all of your data — account, creature, steps, battles, and friend relationships — is permanently and immediately deleted from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

7. Children's Privacy

WalkWars is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below these ages. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (also available directly in the App).
• Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
• Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured format.

9. Push Notifications

If you grant notification permission, we may send you alerts about battle challenges and results. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your device's system settings. Revoking notification permission has no effect on your gameplay.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
